In the ever-changing fashion landscape, it can be hard to keep up with the trends and discover the one defining style in the world of menswear. But this autumn/winter season, we've got the answers to your questions about how to create a look that's both current and true to your personal style and elegance.
In 2023, whether you prefer sportswear or workwear, there are many different ways to add a unique touch to your wardrobe and enhance your personal style. As we watch the catwalks and fashion designers' targeted advertising campaigns, we know that there will be no fashion revolution, but beautiful clothes with impeccable cuts, luxurious fabrics and a wealth of creative research. We also confirm the ever-growing infatuation with tailoring through minimalist elegance that has emerged in recent seasons, as evidenced by the countless tone-on-tone outfits in a neutral palette dominated by black. This new approach to menswear is achieved through a great deal of research into constructions and textures. The attitude is relaxed with a long silhouette that plays with exaggerated volumes.
Scroll through to see the biggest street style trends for Autumn/Winter 2023/2024 menswear seasons:
1. Long coats will be a must-have for Autumn/Winter 2023/2024, going maxi and sweeping the floor, preferably in a beautiful wool, leather or cashmere fabric. Our favourite colour is black.
2. Suits make a comeback for good. This great classic is reworked in many sophisticated ways in terms of construction, buttoning and proportions. An elegant, relaxed silhouette is favoured, with wide trousers and big, unstructured jackets with hanging shoulders, experimenting with asymmetry and unusual openings, worn with a turtleneck.
3. Loose trousers in the spirit of the 90s. Menswear has gone back to basics and oversized trousers (sometimes with maxi pockets) that drip and sometimes pull at the bottom of the legs are back. The secret is comfort and trousers are worn loose and extra wide.
4. Streetwear is also present and pieces should refer to our childhood. Clothes must protect, but above all they must pamper, with warm, cosy materials and enveloping volumes. There should be at least one loungewear piece and one plush piece, such as a wool jacket or trousers, a teddy bear jacket, curly wool cardigans, cashmere ensembles or coats.
5. Sneakers and boots were seen on many catwalks and advertising campaigns, from rubber rain boots to leather biker boots, a look that is still very much in fashion. Clogs also seem to be a new trend for Winter 2023/24.
6. The sporty look of shorts worn over trousers or leggings is the latest winter chic for an athletic runner look. Large and wide shorts can be transformed into comfortable Bermuda shorts to replace trousers. The shorts are part of a trend seen on most catwalks of layering several layers of clothing.
7. Sky blue is making a noticeable breakthrough on the catwalks. It is most often seen in full looks or in small touches through just one piece, such as a scarf.
Other trends we like include
- Leather jackets with a timeless appeal will keep you warm and are a versatile and masculine option that can be worn all year round,
- Jogging bottoms are a must in our wardrobes with the continuation of athleisure and casual dressing. Pair them with tailoring and coats, as well as more casual pieces like bomber jackets.
- Plaid pocket shirts are always on trend in one way or another. There are countless ways to incorporate these patterns into your everyday wardrobe, but one of the easiest is in the medium of an overshirt or flannel shirt.
- All-over denim is the key. Denim is one of the all-time great fabrics, whether in the form of jeans, shirts or jackets. We suggest wearing an entire look of denim and opting for a relaxed silhouette.
- Parkas are big, bold and can be thrown over almost anything. They can dress down tailoring and contrast with the clean lines of a blazer, or dress up casual wear. For a streetwear-influenced look, try a black technical parka over jogging bottoms, a hoodie and your trainers of choice.
- Chunky commando soles are all over the men's footwear trends for this autumn/winter season. Thick, rugged soles transform shoes and penny loafers into subtle statements, while Chelsea boots become fully equipped winter stompers.
- Technical outerwear will continue to be an overarching trend and investment in the fashion world. This time, however, it's cropped, zip-up silhouettes that take centre stage.
Follow our invaluable advice to inject a bit of freshness into your wardrobe and spice up your everyday staples. It's worth paying attention to what's happening in the ever-evolving and often confusing fashion arena, but always respect your personal style. From the return of the classic suit to the continued loosening of silhouettes, these are this year's most wearable men's fashion trends.
